Resident Evil is a long-running video game franchise that has become famous for its scary, atmospheric stories and characters. The first Resident Evil game came out in 1996, and it has been going strong ever since! This series has inspired many other games and movies over the years, even earning itself an anime series. In this article, we'll go over some of the important aspects of the franchise: what they're about and how they got made.
Resident Evil 1
Resident Evil 1 introduced the world to the T-Virus and also introduced two of its most iconic characters: Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. If you've played this game, you know how it's set in a mansion and that there are zombies everywhere (and sometimes dogs). The main characters have to fight for their lives against hordes of zombies, as well as other monsters like spiders and even a giant pig-like creature called the Tyrant. Resident Evil 1 was originally released on PlayStation in 1996, but later remade with better graphics on newer consoles (PlayStation 4 & Xbox One). A remake of this game was also released on Nintendo Switch at the end of 2017!
Resident Evil 2
The second game in the franchise, Resident Evil 2 was released on January 21, 1998 for the PlayStation. It was developed by Capcom for the PlayStation and is part of their Resident Evil series.
The story follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they investigate an outbreak of zombies in Raccoon City, where both are sent to find out what happened to their friend Annette Birkin who had been kidnapped by a mysterious cult known as "The Umbrella Corporation". The gameplay consists of third-person shooter action with puzzles and platforming elements which makes it very similar to its predecessor but with more refined mechanics such as weapon customization options based on ammo types that you may encounter during your journey through Raccoon City (which also includes new weapons like pistols). This game's structure allows players who have played RE1 before to import their save data into RE2 so they can continue where they left off after beating RE1's scenario; this feature was later introduced officially into future installments under different names such as "New Game+" (RE3), "Adventure Mode" (RE4), etcetera
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released in 1998 and developed by Capcom. It is the third installment of the Resident Evil series, following on from two previous successful titles, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code Veronica.
Nemesis was released on a variety of platforms, including PlayStation (1998), Sega Dreamcast (1999) and Nintendo 64 (2000). The PC version was released in 2000.
Resident Evil 4
The fourth game in the series, Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005, and it has been developed by Capcom. The game is set in Spain and follows the story of Leon S. Kennedy as he fights against Las Plagas parasites. This game’s gameplay is similar to Resident Evil 2’s gameplay because it is played from a third-person perspective instead of a first-person perspective like previous titles had done before this one.
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 5 is the fifth installment in the Resident Evil series, developed and published by Capcom. It was released on March 5, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; a PC version followed on September 29 that year. The game is set in 2009, five years after the events of Resident Evil 4 and nine years after those of Resident Evil 2 (however it was made before Revelations).
Resident Evil 6
-
Resident Evil 6 is the sixth main instalment in the popular survival horror video game series Resident Evil, developed and published by Capcom.
-
It was released on October 2, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
-
Capcom's last title before it began its latest push towards multiplatform releases with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017, Resident Evil 6 features three separate campaigns with intersecting storylines.[1]
Resident Evil 7
-
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a first person survival horror video game developed by Capcom and published by Microsoft Studios for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows in January 2017. It is the eleventh main entry in the Resident Evil series, eighth chronologically and a sequel to Resident Evil 6
-
The game follows Ethan Winters as he searches for his wife Mia, who has been missing for three years. Ethan becomes involved in a bioterrorism plot involving an isolated mansion inhabited by the Baker family; its members are infected with an aggressive mold that drives them to murder those they encounter. The player controls Ethan from a first-person perspective and battles against enemies across different locations within Louisiana's Bayou region while solving puzzles related to their surroundings or obtaining items necessary to advance further into the story line..
Resident Evil 8
Resident Evil 8 is the last main series game. It's a departure from the classic RE games, but it also returns to some of their core elements. RE8 is part of Capcom's new direction for the series, and I think that's great.
Resident Evil Revelations
Resident Evil Revelations is a survival horror game for the Nintendo 3DS, released in 2011. It's set between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, and it stars Jill Valentine as she returns to her post after an attack from bioterrorists.
The gameplay is a mix of survival horror and third-person shooter: you'll explore abandoned facilities while trying to survive against legions of zombies and other monsters (including the titular "revelations"). You can also use weapons like shotguns or rocket launchers against your enemies when things get too dangerous up close—and if you're feeling especially adventurous, you can even get into tank battles against giant sea creatures!
Resident Evil Movies
The Resident Evil movies are based on the video game franchise of the same name. They were released in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2012. In 2016 and 2017 two more films were released with a new cast of actors. The first film was directed by Paul W. S. Anderson while Milla Jovovich played Alice in all but one movie (Resident Evil: Retribution).
The story focuses on a special task force that attempts to contain the outbreak of an undead virus created by pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation.

The franchise has been around for a long time and has many parts
The Resident Evil franchise is one of the most successful video game series of all time, with over 80 million copies sold and a bunch of movies and anime based on it. It's also been around for a long time: the first game came out in 1996!
The franchise has many parts, some related to each other and some not so much. There are five main series games (Resident Evil 4-6), three spinoff games (Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2), one remake (Resident Evil Remake), a couple of real-world "experiences" at Universal Studios Japan and Hollywood, several books, TV shows like Umbrella Chronicles/Darkside Chronicles which take place during events between games like Code Veronica or after RE3 but before RE4 where they have no connection to any other official material aside from being clearly part of the same universe... The list goes on!
The Resident Evil franchise is one of the most popular video game series in history. The first game was released in 1996 and since then it has become a huge part of pop culture. There are many different games that have been released over the years, but there are also movies and even an anime series.
